The Village at Beaverbrook

The former home of Lord Beaverbrook - an influential press baron and politician - the Grade-II listed country house estate is now a luxury hotel. The House is quintessentially British with many original features combined with modern touches. The high attention to detail is evident throughout the estate from the Parrot Bar in 1920's colonial splendour through the 18 bedrooms to the Japanese Grill all whilst enjoying views of the Surrey Hills.

Fileturn was commissioned to build and fit-out new accommodation for guests staying at the hotel.

Works began by building The Village on the site of the original Mickleham Estate’s workers cottages. We built ten cottages which held 21 individual guest suites. The scheme, designed by Nicola Harding, echoed the feel of a traditional, English village nestled within the extensive woodlands of the estate. The luxury suites are named after literary and artistic greats with each room exuding their own unique personality and charm. Harding’s design bursts with colour and patterned wallpapers ensure they created the perfect opulent yet homely atmosphere.

The rooms offer a range of unique features, from private gardens, terraces or balconies, to bunk beds or interconnecting options.

We also carried out extensive landscaping to create parking for guests’ vehicles as well as a self-drive buggy per room for residents to access other facilities across the estate. Also housed within The Village is a restaurant named Mrs Beeton’s after the famous Victorian culinary goddess and an event space - The Writer’s Block which can accommodate up to 22 people for tailored events.
