Leonardo Royal Southampton Grand Harbour

The iconic Southampton waterfront hotel, sold by the De Vere Group to private buyers, was in desperate need of a full refurbishment having been downgraded from a five-star rating to four stars with poor customer feedback.

Project Managers John Rowan & Partnersappointed Fileturn to carry out the multi million pound programme of works, after a previously successful working relationship on the Marriott V&A Manchester hotel refurbishment.

All the public areas were updated with therestaurant and bar areas receiving a complete strip out: new partitions, serveries, bespoke bar and back bar, banquette seating, oak and marble flooring.

Abseiliers were required to carry out the decoration to the five-storey high pyramid-shaped glass atrium.

All 173 bedrooms were stripped, new M&E installed, existing woodwork french-polished, and the rooms redecorated. The bathrooms were overhauled and new sub floors installed.
