Holiday Inn Birmingham

A complete refit of the Holiday Inn, Birmingham.

The project involved remodelling the front access including new curtain walling, reshaping pavements and reforming the taxi rank for better access to the hotel. Inside, Holiday Inn's new 'Open Lobby' concept has been created, including a reception area, bar and kitchen.

The public stairs leading from the ground to 1st floor were refurbished including link corridors.

On the 1st floor, the existing bar, restaurant and kitchen areas were stripped out and refitted. 20 new bedrooms were created within this area of the hotel and they included new curtain walling windows to the façade. On the mezzanine level, room for another three bedrooms was created by removing existing office space. Previous electrics, plumbing and A/C all had to be stripped out and reinstalled to support this.

At basement level, three meeting rooms and the circulation area were refurbished.
