London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square, The Luggage Room

Situated within the 5 star Marriott Grosvenor Square Hotel, The Luggage Room was a defunct hotel luggage room and part of the adjoining function suite that luxury hotel owner Strategic Hotels wanted to make an intrinsic part of the hotel offering.

Fileturn was appointed to transform the space into a 1920’s ‘speakeasy’ style bar, designed by Fabled Studio.

The art deco-inspired interior required skill and attention to detail to turn Fabled Studio’s scheme into reality.

The 50-seat intimate venue has cream silk lined walls with metal studs and corner protectors, detailing reminiscent of traditional steamer trunks. Bespoke banquette deep buttoned burgundy leather seats and custom built dark wood cabinetry with subtle Louis Vuitton patterned print and luggage straps, sit either side of a cream marble fireplace.

The bespoke mahogany and marble bar has inset panels of real leather with metal studs, to complete the ‘luggage’ theme.

The project had to follow a tight eight week programme and be completed to precision.
