Pizza Union - Spitalfields

Union Ventures is a private investment company, founded by entrepreneur Bobby Hashemi, who, with his keen eye and experience of the consumer sector, needed a contractor with a sound track record to deliver his Pizza Union vision to Spitalfields in a tight seven week schedule.

The site had the usual logistical issues with a premises located in central London, but also the noise had to be kept to a minimum, as the space is situated under a university.

After Fileturn had stripped out the existing unit and carried out structural refurbishment, the team set about implementing i-am Associates industrial, yet sleek look, creating the look of a cool photographers’ studio yet with a warm heart; the heart being the wood fired 2 ton oven!

Constructing, using a variety of raw materials included scaffold boards, cement boards, Italian marble and salvaged mining lights, transformed the space into the ultimate dining experience required for cool Spitalfields.

There is somewhat of an art to making a site look old when it was actually built in 2008, if you don’t get it right the results can be disastrous. Fileturn completed the project on time and to brief.
