Percy’s, Kensington

Percy’s Kensington is a new late-night drinking venue, situated below the Royal Garden Hotel on Kensington High Street. This site has received several facelifts in recent years, but none seemed to meet the needs of the local clientele. Incipio Group have taken over the space and, with the assistance of Fileturn, transformed it into an exciting new venue - a destination drinking spot, featuring a secret dancefloor.

A feature ceiling was installed with the clever use of embossed paper; exposed electrical conduits and large round lamps, creating a stunning lighting fixture. A new seating area was installed around the beautiful copper beer tanks, finished and enclosed by a new panelled wall and bar front.

A section of bar was removed and turned into a snug, where customers can lounge on the leather sofas, amongst shelves filled with old books. New white crackle glaze tiling was applied to the walls either side of the bar, which features gold-leaf signage. Brass rails and a solid timber nosing were added to the bar to complete the transformation. The eye is drawn to a feature picture wall which was installed down one side of the space.

The dance area was transformed into a Casamigos, a tequila company co-founded in 2013 by none other than George Clooney. Fileturn introduced new flooring throughout the dancefloor, along with barrel timber cladding to the walls and bar. Reconditioned barrels were installed as tables within the booths, decorated in the signature Casamigos fluorescent blue branding.

Fileturn worked closely with the design team, Studio Found, and the project management team at Incipio Group, who were (in their own words) “blown away” by the results.
